"In my practice, I focus on the idea of perception, through an emphasis on archetypes, which reoccur both in media and reality. In this I recreate reoccurring qualities and themes of “life” that manipulate how we perceive our past and present state of ‘reality’. In this work, I look to the ideas of how and why we utilize space and time to strengthen these modes of thought. Utilizing multi-media approaches, in addition to photography, I represent the methodologies of our built and represented environments, emphasizing the way in which they evoke our common purviews of permanence, our obsession with the instillation of meaning, and how we go about marking physical space and landscape in an attempt to reinstate these perspectives.
Through this, it is my goal to portray the idea of the fleeting past, our relationship with time and space, and the forgotten experiences of extinguished periods in my work. I am interested in the idea of our perception and the role that common themes and tropes have in affecting our perspective in life. Intent on revealing these notions, I portray these aspects through the creation of my compositions."
